The Big Four are the four largest firms, which handle the vast majority of audits for publicly traded companies as well as many private companies, creating an oligopoly over the auditing industry. The Big Four firms are shown below, with their latest publicly available data:
I heard the same thing at meeting the other day at E&Y. Not sure what it means though.

Salary brackets dropped by $4K at EY in Canada. I mkae $10K less than I would at a small firm. EY is easily the lowest paying in the city; the bottom of the bracket for new juniors hired out of Uni is $38K.
